To my way of thinking.

#62. 22 years have passed.

The 20-th of January. Black January. You can watch everything below. Just keep this day in mind, always.

These are words from the our today’s little reportage, prepared by the students of Special Talented Group of Azerbaijan State Economic University. I don’t know the reason, but every year the weather cardinally changes this day. And great thanks to all who participated in creation of this video. You are all great!

Nargiz Huseynova:

“We are students of the Special Talented Group of Azerbaijan State Economy University. And today, in spite of bad weather conditions, we are here and would like to make an important speech, which we want, all of you to hear. The speech about the tragedy of 20th of January, 1990. In order to make you closer to the facts let’s go to the Alley of Martyrs.”

Cavid Ismaylov:

“As you can see, we are standing next to the “Shehidler xiyabani”-  Alley of Martyrs, where millions of people come to visit the fallen innocent people, who deserved the name of shehids, every year. Let’s get closer.”

Aykhan Huseynov:

“After the Republic of Azerbaijan regained its independence, it has become possible to renew the objective picture of the past history of our nation. The truth which for many years was kept back, is getting disclosed and misinterpreted events are getting their real value.”

Nargiz Eldarova:

“Numerous acts of genocide against Azerbaijanis, which for many years did not receive its deserved political and legal assessment, is one of the secret pages of our history.”

Calal Allahverdiyev:

“The Soviet Army started its military operations against Azerbaijan early morning Jan. 20, 1990 before declaring a state of emergency.”

Turan Eldarova & Kamal Mammadov:

“This tragedy took the lives of 131 people. Some 744 people were severely injured. Four went missing and 400 were arrested. 21 people were killed after a state of emergency was declared on Jan. 20. 26 people were killed in the Neftchala and Lankaran regions of Azerbaijan.”

Sinan Aghayev:

“The Soviet military operations resulted in an unprecedented tragedy as the valiant sons and daughters of Azerbaijan sacrificed their lives to place our freedom, honor and dignity above everything else.”

Ulviyya Aliyeva:

“This day is called as “Bloody January”, which is accepted as a heroic page in the history of Azerbaijan’s struggle for freedom and territorial integrity.”

Alesker Quliyev & Leyla Mirzayeva:

“The tragedy affected the lives of thousands of innocent Azerbaijanis and demonstrated our inexorable spirit and pride as we fought against the Soviet policies that restricted our freedom. We achieved the independence that we had dreamed of for so many years.”

Ilham Balakhishiyev:

“Majority  take “20 January” as the tragedy and also see it as the next page of heroism of our people in the history of Azerbaijan. And we, being the future of Azerbaijan, will never forget the past, and will try only to stride ahead to make the brilliant future for our country!

Media – the source of information, nowadays most of all relies on Internet and its abilities. And saying Internet first of all we mean young people who manage it. You, I and the people who can read this post.

If we compare youngsters of Azerbaijan with the youngsters of more developed countries we see that we are not so full-fledged in Internet Media.

Being the resident of Azerbaijan I see how Social Network like Facebook is becoming a part of people’s life, and is helpful for different organizations for PR and different advertisement processes.

There is also one part of the young people who are very dedicated to Twitter – another Social Network, which is still not so developed in Azerbaijan. Twitter is used here most of all by famous and important people, people who are interested in political sphere, social active youngsters and just not so much people use it just for fun, sharing their views about different process going on across them. It’s a great Social Network to show Azerbaijan as it is, and make other people from the different countries get the right information about Azerbaijan and learn the information about it at all.

The other, can say that very new part of Internet variety in Azerbaijan is Blogging. That’s what I’m going to talk about now. Besides I had a blog 2 years ago on BlogSpot Platform, deep information about working on WordPress Platform I got from the Information Technology Center of IRELI Public Union by Sahil Balazadeh. I was a participant of We-Blog 1 project, and as it was very successful there were organized also We-Blog 2 and We-Blog 3, due which can say that the country could get around 100 pretty assiduous bloggers. The topics they write are different. One writes about politics, other about tourism, Azerbaijan culture, funny or lyric stories and just the topics they are interested at all. The best post, the best blogs are always encouraged by IRELI PU what inspire young blogers for the better writings.

As I told before, I’m a participant of We-Blog 1 project. Being one of the active ones as an inspiring present I got a domain, so now here is my blog : http://huseynova.com/ . As you can see all the blog is in English and I’m writing around the topis I’m interested in and try to show my way of thinking to some prosesses in here.

Around 2 weeks ago there was announced about the one day trip to Guba for 30 active we-bloggers. Besides not everyone could be choosen for this trip, the second travel to Ismayilli will be organized for other active bloggers in close September, so don’t miss that chance.

Just in one word can say that one day travel to Guba was just amazing! Why? Cause everything was really highly organised beginning from bus ending with mini-trainings by young experts in different IT spheres.

The first thing I have to notice – very warm company and funny discussions along the way. The idea of sleeping on the way was definitely failed. :)

Guba is a very famous city in Azerbaijan, the name of which is always asociated with “apples”. So never lose a chance to taste a Guba apple, that’s one of our brands. :) Guba is the district in Azerbaijan which is situated in the north-east of the Great Caucasus, the first foundation of which was laid in XIV century. So let’s return to the bus.

Our first stop was made in Guba Carpet Center. Very informative tour was showen by the expert of that Center which really made me proud of being Azerbaijanian. The ornaments of Guba carpets formulates are based on ornaments consisting of geometrical design and decorative elements of stylized plant (nabati), sometimes of animal motives. Medallion (medalyonlu cheshni) method has widely been spread in carpets of these schools. The most striking compositions of Guba carpets includes “Gadim-Minare” (Ancient Minaret), “Gimil”, “Alpan”, “Gollu-chichi”, “Pirabadil, “Hajıgayib”, “Giriz”, “Jek etc. “CHICHI”, “Sirt Chichi”, “Gimil”, “Jimi”, “Yerfi”. The Guba carpets glorified by art performance are very popular outside Azerbaijan and decorate expositions of many known museums and private collections. Woven in 1772, the carpet “Goldu Chichi” now is in well-known museum “Metropolitan” of New-York, and it is considered to be one of its pearls. So, just not to bore you, I’ll not tire you with a big amount of information, better, come and visit, you will definitely enjoy it! But you know, as I returned home after the trip I asked my  mother if we had a Guba carpet, and I didn’t expect the carpet which was decorating the living room for many couple of years to be from Guba. That was really great to know that, finally. :)

The second stop was even not happy one. That was Guba Genocide Mass Grave. As I got from the bus off, the negative energetics seized me. But when I saw the Grave that energetics seized me twice more. Terrible feeling! Guba massacre – is a genocide committed by Armenians in Guba. In 2007, a massive cemetery was revealed during excavation works carried out for repairing the city stadium. The excavation works are preceded. The belonging of human bones revealed in the massive cemetery in Guba to the victims of genocide committed by Armenians in 1918 was approved. According to Aladdin Mirzayev, a director of Guba stadium there has never been a cemetery in this area. The most terrible moment is that human skulls and body bones found in the revealed area were separately buried. It proves that their heads were chopped off with a special atrocities. After these evidences the construction works were ceased in the stadium. I will never forget that feeling when one of the guys there told me to keep my hand close to one of the skulls there. You will not believe, but I felt the warm coming from it. Brrr… God, rest their soul!

Under hard emotions we went back to the bus, waiting for the most interesting parts of the travel – busy rest under the open Guba air.

Bus in loco. Very excited getting off from the bus 30 youngsters occupied pretty large, very nice area of Guba. Don’t exactly know the place’s name, but the place was very successfully chosen. I even couldn’t notice how that 6 hours run, but that was amazing. Mini-trainings by Roman S., Rauf M., Ali H., Sahil B., Kamran S., Hatam Sh. in different IT spheres, games, delicious kabab ( Telet H. was great :) ), a little walking to river and other stuff was unforgetable. Big thanks to Khagany F., Eldar M. and Imam G. for great organizing work.

At least, that was a great summer weekend !

Thanks,

Nargiz H.

#60. Nelson Mandela.

With support of Azerbaijani representation of UN Department of Public Information and “IRELI” Foreign Languages Center, yesterday there was held the meeting dedicated to “Nelson Mandela International Day”.
It was just awesome! Envera Selimović (Azerbaijani representation of UN Department of Public Information), had an opening speech, after a guest from Africa told about the life and ideas of Nelson Mandela (that was more than interesting). After one of the interesting parts of the meeting began when participants all began to share there ways of thinking about activities and life of Mandela, what was very enjoyable.
I was very sorry that couldn’t stay till  the “Invictus” movie dedicated to “Nelson Mandela International Day”, but just can say that the meeting was highly organised where I could get huge information.

If you want something to be – just want it. Want it very strong. In the morning, afternoon, at night, during your free time, any time. Just think of this, dream of this, but dream it so strong to manage to transfer it from dream into the reality. And it will come out without any fail. May be I’m sort of dreamer, but it is the first thing which leads me through all my life. I dream very strong  and smile upon the life, and when I am doing it from the depth of my heart, the life reciprocate at times, and it is the time when I cry all-out: Hakuna-Matata! :)

If priority of TEDx Baku 2011 presentations were based on real life stories, this one was more scientific, but also had some “life-experience” part. That was presentation of Rauf Mardiyev around the topic “Limit is something we see as a limit.”

“Everyone has his own limits. First can see it in math, other in singing, the third one in biking. They differ. But how much you try to break the limit you think you have, you get another one, and you break it, again appear the new one. Your wants, abilities, desire is getting bigger and bigger, and your limits also together with that are getting bigger and bigger. So limits are really unlimited.”

That was the main thought of this presentation, what I think was really true. And it’s right that how much person thinks that he is perfect, he always has something to get, learn, break, change, do to be “more perfect”.

I also loved the analyzing part of the work. Things like internet, social networks, computers, and etc are not so developed in regions as it is in capital. And there was shown the comparison of the number of people which were using Facebook three years ago and the number of its users for today. The effect was obvious, numbers dramatically raised. But also the new problem appeared when actually those people were asked about “Who uses Twitter?” Even someone answered liked “What?” So, that meant a new “limit”, new thing that those part of people had to be taught and informed.

Enjoy all the presentation here ( Az. ) :

#57. The end of an era.

Harry Potter is the book I’ve started to read at the age of 10, the book of my childhood, the world of my dreams and wishes. Nothing can replace those days when together with friends we were “eating” each book during the day, then started to read it again-again and again. So many discussions, favorites, ideals. Hundreds of invocations we knew by heart, games on invocations. Just irreplaceable times.  Great thanks to Joanne Rowling for giving such great moments, as individual – for me. And if there will be a question “What you imagine telling childhood?” – Definitely, Harry Potter will be one of the firsts among the enumeration.

I’m almost 18 now, and it’s really hard to tell “Good bye” to this great writing. After reading each of book we were waiting for the movie, just to compare them. And the last 8th movie was just amazing, think that it was the best among all the previous 7 ones.

I went to watch last H.P.-8 with my friend of childhood, with the person with whom we were sharing all the Harry’s advantages together. That was just a coincidence, but it was really very nice to end childhood interest exactly with that person.

So, Joanne Rowling, you are just great! I wish you write something great in this field in coming future, when by that time my children will be reading and will be waiting for the next book with big impatience.

With love,

Nargiz

#55. Fariz rocks :)

Today was very important day for us, me, my family and first of all for my brother. The day we have been for so a long time has finally come, the day of entrance university exams.

My brother’s name is Fariz. That can sound funny, but he is 15 and has finished 11 years of school. The reason is that that he came to school at the age of 5, but right to the 2nd form J Why so? Think just he was a real Wunder Kind. Besides I’m 2 years elder, when he was just 4, and I was crying trying to lean that damn multiplication table with mama, he was running to right-left saying the right answers. Strange, isn’t it? The same was the geography; he knew all the capitals, all the objects on map. Then getting older he knew math and all technical subjects to perfection, even was doing different stuff on math, physics, chemic and etc for me.

The most interesting thing is that that he is never getting worried or nervous during the exams sessions, and is maximum indifferent. I really don’t know who he is doing that.

So, the most important day has come, exams to enter the university. He went to exam in the morning, again without any emotion. We hoped him to score the maximum level 700 points. But he lost 28 ones, and scored 672. The number is one of the bests in the country, so he can apply each university, each faculty he wants. And we are very happy and proud for him!

Go on rockin’, Fariz!

Discovered a funny picture today, the one lower:

Of course, it’s a little bit exaggerated, but the meaning is right. Those people are really poor who waste their time on Facebook or different social network just for fun, for “making relations”. People, wake up! Please, WAKE UP! Make something useful, read, learn to use Facebook right, go in for sport, watch TV, make real relations, talk to friend, go for a walk, sleep or make some researches instead. At least the sights of those activities will impair only you, no one else. But making those stupid things on Facebook, sending unknown request, crazy massages, tagging everyone one strange pictures can be very normal for you, but you must get that you can disturb the other person.

Think of this please.

Faithfully,

Nargiz

Google calls (putting out the social network Google +) and quick answers, as in other announced, introducing a great new feature, Video Call on Facebook .

From now so you can speak out with friends on facebook and also look at webcams doing the video classic .This functionality is implemented in Facebook with the help of Skype, but it is not the only innovation. It may, hence, also in group chat with multiple friends together in one session, a bit ‘as happens in MSN Messenger.

The video on Facebook right now you can activate by going to the Facebook video .

Activation requires you to click a green button to start (under the ” Talk face to face with your friends “) that will download the file FacebookVideoCallSetup. exe to install on your Windows computer as a web browser plugin. The installation of the plugin works on Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari.

After installation you can immediately try to video call a friend by opening a chat window and clicking the button ” Start a Video Call “recognizable by the TV camera at the top, next to the contact name in the chat window.

To my friend a warning call and the request to configure your video chat or video calls to install the plugin Facebook. When participants are ready, you can talk to the microphone and see each other on webcam.

It is not clear yet whether we can do video chat group, for now I think.Instead you can leave a video message if the person does not answer the video call.

Here’s video presentation should be noted that the video call and video conferencing group you can do so absolutely perfect already in Google Plus with features Video meeting regard to group chat but you can add text to a friend by clicking on the conversation wheel in the window next to the camera chat, press the ” Add chat to friends “and write the name of the friend. In this way you can chat with two, three or more people together.

The partnership between Facebook and Skype ( Skypebook ) is also evident in the beta Skype 5.5 , which integrates Facebook and becoming a full client for Facebook chat , now also in videos. Facebook users can integrate their stream of updates in Skype (now Microsoft), update your status and comment directly the program video. Comparison to Google + video calls are lower also because in Google Plus function video meeting allows video conferencing and chat up to 10 contacts simultaneously visible together while video chatting on Facebook seems to be limited to one-to-one, time.

What do you think? is good news and there was no interest in this chat? Personally I am always happy when I see the integration of services so powerful as Skype and Facebook becoming increasingly global communications platform, now also for making phone calls to and away free video calls .
